Fundraiser/Fireworks Booth
Q & A

Why am I paying a fundraiser fee deposit?

Rosemont Soccer Club functions solely on fees paid at registration (which are significantly lower   than many of the surrounding soccer clubs), volunteers, and fundraisers.  To encourage players to participate in the fundraisers we have implemented a fundraiser fee deposit.  Parents have the option to work a shift in the RSC fireworks booth or sell a box of chocolates and receive the fundraiser fee deposit back, or donate the $20 fee and not volunteer or sell candy.

How do I volunteer for the fireworks booth?

To volunteer for the fireworks booth, please contact our fundraiser coordinator, Meghan Cole at (916) 541-4344 or via email megcole@sbcglobal.net.  Meghan will be able to go over the volunteer schedule with you and reserve a volunteer slot for you.

How soon after I volunteer in the fireworks booth can I expect a refund of the fundraiser fee deposit?

You should receive a check sometime after July 10th, but no later than July 31st.  Please be sure to fill out the form in the fireworks booth with your name, mailing address, and email and have it signed by the board member on duty.  This will aid in the verification process and allow the treasurer to issue your check faster.

How long are the shifts at the fireworks booth?

A typical shift for the fireworks booth is three hours.  You must work the full three hours to qualify for a refund.

I have more than one child registered for soccer.  Do I have to work additional shifts to receive all the deposits back?

Yes.  To receive a deposit for each child registered, you need to work a three hour shift for each child.

If I work in the fireworks booth do I still have to sell candy?

No.  Candy sales are optional for those volunteers who have completed shifts in the fireworks booth.  You may sell candy if you would like, and we encourage you to do so, but you will not be given a second refund of the fundraiser fee deposit for working in the fireworks booth and selling candy.

I want to sell candy.  When and where will candy distribution be located?

Candy distribution will be held at Sequoia Elementary on Mondays and Wednesdays between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  You will be able to pick up boxes of candy and drop of payment for the boxes.

I’ve sold a box of candy.  When do I get my fundraiser fee refunded?

Your fundraiser fee will be refunded immediately when you return the money for the box of candy.  (i.e. you hand over payment of $60 and we will hand you $20 back).  You are only allowed to receive one refund per child registered.  However, feel free to sell as many boxes of candy as you want.  There are prizes for the top two individual sellers and the top two selling teams!

What happens if I do not turn in my candy money by the deadline?

Unfortunately, RSC will have to pull your child’s player pass until the funds are paid for the candy.  This means that your child will not be able to participate in any practices or games until the player pass is reinstated.

What are the monies from fundraisers used for?

RSC uses any profits received from the fireworks booth for field improvement.  The profits from candy sales help cover the registration fees for District Cup and Soccerfest for RSC teams as well as many other “perks” such as trophies, practices balls, and practice shirts.
